Cloning a hard drive to a new one in a laptop or desktop PC

There may come a time when a hard drive shows of failing, or it is getting full and you want to upgrade the hard disk drive.

For the purposes of this article, I will be talking about a laptop, but the principal is much the same with a Desktop PC.

Hard drives are reasonably priced at the moment, so if you’re old laptop is a S-ATA drive and you need to get a new one, why not opt for a 1TB (1000GB) drive for example, say a Seagate, Western Digital Caviar etc. There are ample to choose from.
